“The Faithful” Starring Matthias Moving Forward

Savage Films (via Screen Daily) has announced that they are moving forward with “The Faithful” with Michaël R. Roskam on board as director and Matthias set to star.

Savage Films presents new projects at Rotterdam; Oscar-nominated Flemish director Michaël R. Roskam’s Belgian-set feature The Faithful planning shoot.

The Faithful, set in Brussels against the backdrop of the gang war in the city in the early 1990s, is expected to star Matthias Schoenaerts, who worked with Roskam on his debut feature Bullhead.

Production had originally been expected to begin in 2016 but the film’s producer, Bart Van Langendonck of Savage Films, told Screen that the film could move into production much sooner.

“We’re looking to shoot later this year,” Van Langendonck said of the film, which Savage is making with Stone Angels in France.

Sales agents are clamouring around the project, which is likely to be packaged up and announced formally in Cannes.

Matthias was first linked to “The Faithful” back in 2012 when Variety broke the story but it seems that they are finally moving forward with the project.

Matthias Joins “The Danish Girl”

Deadline is reporting that Matthias is joining the cast of Tom Hooper’s “The Danish Girl“.

Matthias Schoenaerts (The Drop) is joining Tom Hooper’s The Danish Girl opposite Eddie Redmayne (The Theory Of Everything), Alicia Vikander (Testament Of Youth) and Amber Heard (Magic Mike 2). The film, boasting an increasingly formidable cast, sees director and producer Hooper re-teaming with Working Title’s powerhouses Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner. The trio previously worked together with much success on Les Miserables.

Inspired by the novel written by David Ebershoff, The Danish Girl is a love story about Danish painters Einar Wegener and his wife Gerda. In 1930, Wegener was one of the first men ever to undergo operations to become a woman. Lucinda Coxon adapted the screenplay. Anne Harrison and Gail Mutrux developed the film and will produce through their Harrison Productions and Pretty Pictures banners.

Schoenaerts is repped by CAA and UBBA. The Belgian actor has the Thomas Vinterberg-directed adaptation of Thomas Hardy’s classic novel Far From The Madding Crowd coming down the pipeline, opposite Carey Mulligan and Juno Temple.

“A Little Chaos” UK Trailer

Lionsgate UK released the first trailer for “A Little Chaos” last week. We have added the trailer in our video archive. Matthias stars alongside Kate Winslet, Alan Rickman and Stanley Tucci. We have added the high definition screencaptures in our gallery. The movie will be released March 27, 2015 in the US and April 17, 2015 in the UK and premiered earlier this year during the Toronto International Film Festival.

Madame Sabine De Barra (Kate Winslet) is an unlikely candidate for landscape architect of the still‐to-be-completed Palace of Versailles. She has little time for the classical, ordered designs of the man who hires her, the famous architect Le Nôtre (Matthias Schoenaerts). However, as she works on her creation, she finds herself drawn to the enigmatic Le Nôtre and forced to negotiate the perilous rivalries and intricate etiquette of the court of King Louis XIV (Alan Rickman). But Sabine is made of strong stuff; her honesty and compassion help her to overcome both the challenges of her newfound popularity, and an unspeakable tragedy from her past, to win the favour of the Sun King and the heart of Le Nôtre. Produced by Gail Egan and Andrea Calderwood. Directed by Alan Rickman. Screenplay by Alison Deegan, Alan Rickman and Jeremy Brock.

“The Loft” US Trailer + Release Date

Yahoo! Movies released the first US trailer for “The Loft“. The movie will now be distributed by Open Roads in the US and will be released next month already: on January 23, 2015. The official US poster has been added to our gallery and the motion poster can be found at: TheLoftMotionPoster.com. You can also follow the official twitter account of the movie @LoftTheMovie and Facebook account /TheLoftMovie. The official trailer has been added in our video archive and screencaptures have been added in our gallery.

The first rule of The Loft is…you don’t tell anybody else about the Loft. That’s the deal five married buddies strike when they decide to share the keys to a deluxe penthouse in the sky that will serve as an “oasis” from their wives. “Think about it,” promises handsome ringleader Vincent (Star Trek’s Karl Urban) in the thriller’s new trailer, “No messy hotel bills, no questionable credit card activity.” His argument eventually sway his pals, including Wentworth Miller, Eric Stonestreet, Mattias Schoenaerts and even a dubious James Marsden, who initially (and unconvincingly) insists “I’m not like that.”

“Far From The Madding Crowd” Teaser Trailer

Fox Searchlight UK released the first teaser trailer of “Far From The Madding Crowd” earlier today. Matthias stars alongside Carey Mulligan in Thomas Hardy’s classic English novel adaption. Fun fact: The novel was first published in book form 140 years ago today, on November 23, 1874. The teaser can be watched below or in our video archive and the high definition screen captures have been added in our gallery.

Based on the literary classic by Thomas Hardy, FAR FROM THE MADDING CROWD is the story of independent, beautiful and headstrong Bathsheba Everdene (Carey Mulligan), who attracts three very different suitors: Gabriel Oak (Matthias Schoenaerts), a sheep farmer, captivated by her fetching wilfulness; Frank Troy (Tom Sturridge), a handsome and reckless Sergeant; and William Boldwood (Michael Sheen), a prosperous and mature bachelor. This timeless story of Bathsheba’s choices and passions explores the nature of relationships and love – as well as the human ability to overcome hardships through resilience and perseverance. Far From the Madding Crowd. In UK cinemas 2015.
